Over recent years numerous new railway transport companies have emerged. In order to succeed on the market they need individual service concepts assuring economic efficiency, and with limited workshop infrastructure and low staff numbers.
ALSTOM Transport in Germany has optimized its complete range of services with regard to these aspects. It includes a comprehensive repair, maintenance and spare parts service for multiple units and locomotives. Additionally, quick accident repairs as well as the modernization of vehicles and components is provided. An efficient on-site service team is available around the clock. We also offer a locomotive rental pool.
In the course of the Europeanization of railfreight transport, ALSTOM has developed a specific locomotive type for cross-border traffic between Germany and the Netherlands (BR 203). Developments for further countries are planned.
Scope of services for multiple units and locos - from spare parts supply through maintenance management to locomotive rental

At the service site in Stendal, the competencies of both teams are bundled and synergies are used to offer a complete service spectrum. In principal, maintenance is integrated in the production process and allows a direct cross-linking of information.

Stendal - a site with tradition
More than 130 years ago, the "Centralwerkstatt für Lokomotiven und Wagen" was one of the first industrial firms in the city of Stendal. From 1920 to 1979, more than 25,000 steam locomotives were refurbished in the future railway repair works of the Reichsbahn and since 1968, also diesel locomotives. Today, maintenance, modernization and sale of diesel locomotives of the family V100 are on the programme. By order of the DB museum in Nürnberg, the ALSTOM Lokomotiven Service in cooperation with the Deutsche Bahn AG also refurbished the former parade train of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, the legendary Trans-Europa-Express (TEE) of 1957.
