ALSTOM has over 15 ERTMS projects under way

ALSTOM will also dedicate a special area to the promotion of our ERTMS on-going projects. The latest developments will be on display, with presentations of some of the most recent successes such as the demonstration prior to the Olympic games in Athens on the suburban Line and our involvement in the Zaragoza-Huesca project in Spain. The ALSTOM stand will make use of a specific e-media tool to inform visitors about our latest achievements, our suggestions for the successful development of ERTMS projects in Europe and up-coming events.

At a time when the European Union is expanding and now includes some 25 members states, ERTMS is not only an important technological advance for rail, it also plays a very relevant role in the effort for greater mobility of people and goods. With its flexibility, ERTMS is making rail interoperability a reality, meeting the requirements of all countries for both high speed and conventional rail. ALSTOM is proud to be at the forefront of this far-reaching initiative, providing rail owners and operators with proven products for ERTMS - more than 15 projects to date - and pursuing the development of further solutions.
