"The new trains for vectus are a very important and attractive reference for us. They prove once again how variably our modular CORADIA LINT trains can be tailored to the individual requirements of the lines and the needs of the passengers," said Dr. Dieter Klumpp, managing director of ALSTOM LHB GmbH in Salzgitter.
Since the first vehicles have been commissioned in 2000 CORADIA LINT has established itself as one of the most popular regional trains. Up to now, ALSTOM sold approx. 300 CORADIA LINT motor cars all over Europe. Over 160 vehicles thereof are successfully operated in passenger service and already covered a mileage of 80 million kilometers, which is about 2,000 times around the earth. CORADIA is derived from Greek and means "through the region". It is the brand name of all regional trains of ALSTOM. LINT is an abbreviation for "light innovative suburban railcar".
